Safety and Education
We consider the Nichols Contracting team a family, and similar to any family we desire for the safety and well-being of our personnel. The family mindset correlates to the Nichols Contracting philosophy that every employee must demand the highest level of safety at all times. An investment in safety is an investment in our family.
Education
All our Foremen are OSHA 30-hour certified and take continuing educational courses to maintain certifications and stay updated in all things safety. In addition, the majority of our project team, tradesmen, and laborers are OSHA 10-hour certified.
Training
Nichols Contracting takes the common sense approach to training our personnel and team partners by training based on what work we perform. In addition to basic construction safety training, we identify the type of work we are and will be doing, the products and equipment that will be used, and the resulting hazards that are associated with such work. Our personnel then are given training applicable to the products and equipment they will be using, and the work they will be performing. When available, we take advantage of the help of our suppliers to further the precision of our training.
Partnerships
To get the most well rounded approach to safety, Nichols Contracting collaborates with our business affiliates, including our subcontractors, field personnel, equipment and material suppliers, insurance broker, insurance provider, government and safety agencies, and clients. As mentioned above, we solicit the assistance of our suppliers to give us the precise training of the equipment and products we are using. By endeavoring to comply with the requirements and recommendations of our clients and vendors, Nichols Contracting is on the leading edge of safety.
